Traditional
Funeral Services
A
traditional funeral service is the most common request. It usually
consists of visitation in the evening followed by a funeral service
the next day. Photographs, special music, and other special memorabilia
can aid families in creating a service that will be meaningful.
Families will need to choose a casket and, because most cemeteries
require an outer container for burial, a vault will also need
to be chosen.
Same-Day
Visitation/Services
Some
people choose to have a visitation immediately preceding a funeral
service on the same day. This type of service usually includes
1-4 hours of visitation, followed immediately by a service. Photographs,
special music, and other special memorabilia can aid families
in creating a service that will be meaningful. Families will need
to choose a casket and, because most cemeteries require an outer
container for burial, a vault will also need to be chosen.
Direct
Burial
With
this type of service, there is no visitation. The family may or
may not choose to have an officiant at the burial. There is no
embalming. Families will need to choose a casket and, because
most cemeteries require an outer container for burial, a vault
will also need to be chosen.
Memorial
Services
This
type of service can be conducted without the presence of the deceased.
It may follow a direct burial or a cremation. Photographs, special
music, and other special memorabilia can aid families in creating
a service that will be meaningful.
Graveside
Services
Sometimes
families choose not to have a visitation. This type of service
is held at the graveside and can be private if the family wishes.
Families will need to choose a casket and, because most cemeteries
require an outer container for burial, a vault will also need
to be chosen.
Cremation
Following Traditional Services
Cremation
doesn't necessarily mean not having a service. Sometimes families
choose to have a traditional service, followed by a cremation.
As with a traditional service, it usually consists of visitation
in the evening followed by a funeral service the next day. Photographs,
special music, and other special memorabilia can aid families
in creating a service that will be meaningful. Rental caskets
are available for these types of services, and we offer a wide
variety of urns for families to select from. Embalming is required
for this service.
Direct
Cremation Services
We
offer a wide variety of urns for families to select from when
choosing a direct cremation. If a family chooses a direct cremation,
they may also wish to have a memorial service at a later date.
There is no embalming needed if a family chooses direct cremation.
Military
Honors Services
Veterans
are often remembered with some type of military honors. Whether
it be at the funeral home or cemetery, most military branches
have special customs that they use to memorialize your loved one's
service to his/her country. These types of services can be incorporated
into almost any of our funeral service offerings.
Fraternal
Organization Services
Many
times, families want to incorporate their loved one's membership
in different organizations, into the service. These types of services
can be incorporated into almost any of our funeral service offerings.
Out-of-town
Services/Arrangements
When
a family member dies away from his/her home, we can assist in
arranging for services elsewhere.
Pre-Need
Planning
Arranging
for the funeral of a loved one often falls on survivors who are
not prepared for the important decisions that must be made during
this time of hardship. We feel that pre-arranging for a funeral
can be a most important asset to a family at the time of the death
of a loved one. It can lighten the burden from your family members
and also helps to ensure that your personal wishes, or those of
a loved one, are known.
Randall
& Roberts Funeral Home has been caring for the families in
our community for over 85 years. If you decide that pre-planning
would be beneficial to you or a loved one, we can sit down with
you to evaluate your funeral needs, and help you to construct
a service that will accommodate your wishes. Your survivors can
take comfort in knowing that they are implementing your desires.
