David M. Jennings, 58, of Indianapolis, passed away on Sunday, December 1, 2019 at Riverwalk Village in Noblesville. He was born on June 7, 1961 in Connersville, Indiana.
David was a national merit scholar and graduated from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology with a degree in chemical engineering. While there, he was involved in the Alpha Tau Omega fraternity. After completing his degree, David worked as a professional mechanical engineer in construction. He started his career with Johnson Controls before eventually moving through Terre Haute to Indianapolis where he contributed to the building of many of the schools, including redesigning the IUPUI library and major hospitals, including the design and building of the Methodist Hospital emergency room. David loved camping and the outdoors, working with his hands and gardening, as well as fixing cars and houses. He was always willing to help others.
David adored his three sons and wife, Rhonda, whom he loved lavishly without reservation or restraint. He had a deep spirituality that formed profoundly through his involvement at Holy Spirit at Geist. David longed for peace and wholeness of all things created by the God that he loved. David never hesitated to bless, never feared the unknown, never refused a challenge, and always loved with all that he could muster to the very end of his life.
He is survived by his former wife, Rhonda Osborne; mother, Myrna (Frank) Todd; sons, Brian (Kate) Jennings, Kevin Jennings, and Andrew (Tiffany) Jennings; brothers, Mark Jennings and Troy Jennings; sister, Beth Jennings; grandson, Joseph David; and his beloved dogs, Tucker and Harley.
David was preceded in death by his father, Arnold Jennings.
